Active Campaigns and Programs

Micro-Community Collaborative

The Micro-Community Collaborative (MCC) is a grassroots people’s movement that inspires, educates, and empowers San Luis Obispo county locals. It encourages community collaboration to build a sense of belonging, foster resiliency, protect and conserve the environment. We orient toward a just and sustainable society. Our mission is to empower the development of resilient and sustainable neighborhoods – one Micro-Community at a time. This is accomplished through community building programs, resource and education sharing, and advocacy. The Resilient SLO Challenge is a program developed by the Micro-Community Collaborative. MCC is partnered with BrightAction, a web based platform.

Uniting the Central Coast for Action

Uniting the Central Coast for Action (UCCA) is a flagship program of the SLO Climate Coalition working in partnership with Romero Institute’s Let’s Green CA initiative.

Individuals and environmental organizations in the five counties served by Central Coast Community Energy have formed a regional partnership. Together, we assess the needs of the area and collaborate on educational and advocacy opportunities. Together, with common purpose, we amplify our voice calling for impactful climate action.

SLO Green Transportation

The guiding vision of Green Transportation is to increase use of electric vehicles and other electric modes of transportation in San Luis Obispo. The program works to ensure equitable and affordable access to the benefits of clean transportation. Local events for National Drive Electric Week are held each Fall.

Green Transportation also works in partnership with the City of SLO to create an Electric Mobility Roadmap, working toward a fossil fuel-free transportation system.

Project leaders: Barry Rands and Eric Veium
