Juanita Lopez, 2022:

The EV Ride and Drive Event was a must-see event for anyone who considers themselves an environmentalist, a car enthusiast, or just someone who is looking to learn how to make the most of great deals. The cars on display were amazing works of art and technology, with some that could power a popcorn machine and power tools at the same time for everyone’s enjoyment and/or needs. Additionally, for me personally as a student, it was great to see what some investments might look like in the future for me while immersing myself in a great community!

Mary Blackler, 2022:

My husband and I recently attended the 2022 SLO EV Ride and Drive event.  We are hoping to purchase an electric vehicle within the next year.  While we have done a lot of research online, it was great to meet people who are enthusiastic owners of electric vehicles as well as to talk to salespeople about their dealers’ products.  We test drove a Chevy Bolt and were impressed by its handling and range.  We also spoke with Ford Lightning and Tesla owners.  We left feeling very excited about our upcoming purchase, whatever it turns out to be.  This is a great educational venue for people eager to support SLO’s climate goals through changes in transportation.  We are grateful to the organizers for the hard work it must have taken to put this event together.

(As an aside, our only disappointment was that there were no vegan burrito options.  A plant based diet is, of course, another great way to reduce carbon emissions. Emoji)
